I'd agree with the side panel holes are simply too small, and too few of them. My CPU temps drop 5-6 C just by removing the side panel. I tend to run it that way, as it's on the right side of my desk and just faces the wall, so you can't see it anyway. For revision 1.2 or 2.0, much more...

I would agree about the airflow holes, they need to be a little bigger and more of them on the sides, and substantially larger on the bottom if that is possible without ruining the structure.
