I haven't yet seen anywhere that shows the dp/hdmi output pcb closely but it is possible that it can be disconnected and the card still work. The one or two glimpses I've seen of it had it with only a couple passives and possibly a small voltage regulator. Can't say definitively though. The one...

The main gpu pcb is connected to the pcie slot directly by a connector. The displayport and hdmi connectors are connected by a ribbon cable though. What a water block would have to do is emulate the attachment points that the stock cooler has. So a water block would need to hold all the parts...

I saw that one; I had been in contact with the person who posted that build a couple days before it was posted. Looks like they have changed the hole size and spacing in the top of the case; the one I have has 18 rows of holes while that one has 17 and the new one looks like they are larger than...

You wouldn't happen to have a picture of what it looks like inside with the two fans installed with the motherboard tray in place?

I'm curious as to how you rearranged things to allow for the option of two 80mm fans.

I could send one along however there is a limitation you must be aware of: total system power draw must be kept under 600w on the psu output side. Despite using a 6 layer pcb and 2oz copper, with the space available the traces are still smaller than I would like and as such could possibly get...

Have not had the chance to test it yet beyond really basic plugging in and really low level load/noise tests. I would imagine it has reduced cooling requirements since it didn't even come with thermal pads bonding components on the underside to the case either. There's also some topology that...

While I don't know if there is a fully GaN psu, Supermicro has put out a successor to the 804p; the pws-862a-1r that has at least one GaN fet in it and is, at least by rating, a couple percent more efficient. It also has a minor power output bump: 750-800 -> 800-860. As well it is pin compatible...

Well I have managed to get my hands on a pws-862a-1r. The pcb is about 10mm shorter than the 804. The input fuse and some of the emi capacitors are on a little pcb hanging off the power connector. It is also using at least one GaN fet. This is a comparison between the 804 and 862. Ignore that...

If you're talking about drilling through the pcb on the power supply on the output side, of course it isn't going to work; the top is ground and the bottom is +12v. Drilling through and putting a wire through the hole would cause a direct short circuit to ground for the main output. There also...

There appears to be a new Supermicro psu out. Same size as the pws-804p-1r and similar name plate ratings. It is the pws-862a-1r. It gets an efficiency bump to titanium from platinum. Might look into using one if this thing gets revived. https://store.supermicro.com/us_en/800w-1u-pws-862a-1r.html

I am unsure why it was so loud however, as far as I can tell, it wasn't a one off since I've tried 2 power supplies and both were the same. Truth be told, every single part of this computer had terrible coil whine and was changed multiple times. Went through 3 Asus B650e-i before settling on a...

I didn't know that these were 60mm wide. That's a bit of a problem, at least for me, since the super micro I was previously using was already too wide at 54.5mm wide. I might use this one though to see what else there is out there.

You wouldn't happen to have one of those on hand would you? If I were to use one, I would probably make a little pcb that plugs into the end like my last one. For that I would need to know what connectors fit onto that end. I wouldn't leave it on all the time; the last psu I made would pass the...

I had a look at the dell supply and it seems promising however, there is little data about it out there. I also found that there is a 1400 watt variant that is generally cheaper on eBay. From the little I could find out about it, it is slightly less efficient, at least according to dell however...
