    Discussion HDPLEX H1 mounted vertically?

Would mounting the HDPLEX H1 vertically on the back of a monitor disrupt the airflow over the case's heatsink fins in a significant way? The H1 is nearly perfect for my next project aside from the fact that I don't want the thing on my desk.

    Fan overlapping bare CPU heatsink?

I'm really curious about how much of an effect the dam @confusis was describing would have. It'd be a damn shame if I have to put this design away. It's using a single 200mm fan to cool the CPU, HDPLEX, and a back-of-mobo M.2 drive using surfaces to redirect the air. I had a feeling my design...

    Fan overlapping bare CPU heatsink?

I'm not sure I understand. Do you mean like ducting? The fan would be right up against the heatsink, so there wouldn't be any space for that.

    Fan overlapping bare CPU heatsink?

Been a while since I stopped in. Glad the forum has picked up! I've been sitting on a design for a while now that I really want to have manufactured (far from that point; all I have is a mock-up at the moment). The whole design depends on how well a section of a large fan placed over a CPU...

    Permanent Dust Filter Installation?

All I want in life is a 200mm addition to their iPPC line.

    Permanent Dust Filter Installation?

Well for what it's worth, right now I've got the Bitfenix Spectre PRO slated for the project, which I've used before for a long time with no issues. It'll be vertically mounted, too. BUT, I'm holding out for whenever Noctua gets their crap together and releases the 200mm they've been working on...

    Permanent Dust Filter Installation?

The reason I haven't used DEMCiflex, as much good as I've heard about them is this:

    Permanent Dust Filter Installation?

200mm fan :D Now that I think of it, I don't know if I've ever seen a 200mm filter frame. Honestly, and it might be a huge pain, but I don't think getting a torn filter off would be that big of a deal. If it doesn't rip off easily, maybe some steel wool? I'm really not that worried about...

    Permanent Dust Filter Installation?

Hi all, I'm trying to figure a way to mount a dust filter on my intakes. I'd rather not have to screw anything in as I'm trying to design a case with as few holes as possible. I'm thinking of installing filter material permanently to the inside of the side panels by gluing the material on the...

SFF.Network [SFF Network] Fractal Design introduces the Define Nano S

I remember when I got the Prodigy. It was my first PC build. I had been doing research for months, and knew I wanted to build an ITX system. I was super pumped taking it out of the box, laying out all my hardware, and going to work. And when I finished, I was like, "wtf? What's with all this...

    GPU Mounting Question

The way I imagine installing the card would be to sort of "rock" it in, starting by sliding the tabs under the sheath, and then pivoting on that until the 90° bracket pops through to the outside of the case. I actually already reworked the "sheath" to instead be a spot welded nut. That way...

    GPU Mounting Question

Working on a back-to-back (w/PCIe riser) design that requires the GPU to be mounted with the connector facing upward. The only way I can think of mounting it is by using the right-angle tab that comes from the GPU face plate to fasten the GPU to the case, and then using the face plate tabs as...

What's your preferred PSU form factor?

HDPlex because it's the best of both the "pico" and the higher power PSU worlds. Modular ATX connectors but relatively tiny; enough juice for an i7/970 combo with a thoughtful layout, but nearly passive...

Feature requests and ideas for SFN!

Woops! I'm so used to opening in a new-tab I didn't even think to try that. My excuse is that I'm new here :D
