I had similar issue I converted my titan xp to single slot card with EKWB and added another USB-C to my computer. I have the slag issue solved with adding a piece of hard plastic to the right of both card to fill up the space thus avoiding any play.

I would suggest lightly heat up those tabs. To around 90 degree c so the glue melt. Like how you open up phone these day.

I used a t fitting at one end of the rad which functions as an fill port.

My hardware labs rad fits perfectly. There is just 1mm clearance in height.
