SilverStone SX800-LTI – 800W Titanium SFX-L!!

Edit: Our review of the SilverStone SX800-LTI here. In the course of research for the Lian Li PE-750 review, I ending up checking the UL manufacturer directory listing for SilverStone and noticed references to a SX800-LTI. As I went over in the SX700-LPT review, according to SilverStone’s current SFF PSU nomenclature, the “SX800-LTI” model number translates to a 800W SFX-L Titanium-rated fully-modular power supply. Curious if this was real I contacted Tony Ou, SilverStone’s marketing manager, and even though he’s busy with Computex, he replied that it is indeed real, they announced it today, and it will (hopefully) be available in …

Intel’s Broadwell-E Lands: Up to 10 Cores, Available Immediately

Although plenty of leaks and rumors have deflated any of the suspense from the announcement, Intel has finally brought their newest generation of enthusiast and professional-grade parts to the market, in the form of Broadwell-E. The particular speeds and feeds of this latest crop of CPU’s has been known for some time now, but what we weren’t completely sure of was pricing and availability. With Intel’s announcement, however, we can finally nail down all the details: Broadwell-E will have an entry price of $434 in the Core i7 6800K, which is a hexa-core part that comes with 3.4/3.6GHz base/boost clocks, 15MB …

Enermax reveals the Steelwing mATX case

Tom’s Hardware has some details of the Enermax Steelwing microATX case they teased last month. It’s an aluminum microATX case with a glass side panel and support for 260mm long video cards. MSRP is $140 and will hopefully be available in July. The picture is low resolution and has a reflection but from what I can tell this is only a 3-slot case. So running two graphics cards will require water cooling and will be limited to cards that either come with the IO in a single-slot configuration or will require modding to remove the DVI connector that would be in the way on …

DAN Cases A4-SFX Kickstarter is live!

“The A4-SFX case is a one-man project with the goal of creating the smallest case possible while still using high-end standardized components, such as Core i7 processors and powerful full-length GPUs, such as the GeForce GTX 980 Ti. The result is a unique product that is much smaller than all competing cases. This case is perfect for SFF (Small Form Factor) enthusiasts, those who need a highly portable system, developers who require a case with a smaller footprint due to limited desk space, and gamers who want a high-end PC experience in their living room.” The DAN A4 is a …

The SFX PSU’s keep on coming: FSP set to launch 500W and 600W ‘Dagger’ line

And YOU get a power supply! And YOU get a power supply!.. Everyone gets a power supply! As if the highly anticipated Platinum-rated units from Lian Li and SilverStone weren’t enough, word on the street (where ‘the street’ is TechPowerUp) is that FSP’s looking to join the PSU fray with a pair of SFX units they’ve… interestingly enough… elected to call the “Dagger” line. (Hey, since when does size matter, right?) Ostensibly, these gaming-targeted PSUs are meant to provide a testosterone-pumping 500W or 600W of pure, raw electricity, to rigs replete with high end CPUs and enthusiast-grade graphics. Indeed, practically …

Lian Li Stealth Launches the PE-750: A 750W Platinum SFX-L PSU

Who doesn’t love unexpected surprises? Eagle-eyed member of the forum iFreilicht has turned our attention to a new listing on Newegg for Lian Li’s highly-anticipated PE-750, which currently lays claim to the title of the highest wattage SFX-L power supply available, let alone the highest wattage SFF-oriented PSU more broadly. Most know of Lian Li as a manufacturer of popular (if not occasionally curious) aluminum enclosures, so the company’s entry into the power supply market is a notable departure from their traditional offerings. SFF Network actually covered the unexpected announcement of the unit (alongside a 550W Gold-rated SFX-L PSU) in early April, and the development took the industry …
