Cooling ID Cooling IS-55 CPU Cooler Revisit

I decided to take another look at the downdraft ID Cooling IS-55 CPU cooler.

Cooler was tested on an open bench with the following:
Ryzen 5700G using integrated graphics
NTH-1 Thermal Paste
Aorus B550 ITX motherboard
RAM 32 GB Corsair LPX @3200
10 min CPU Z Stress Test & Unigine Valley @1080P Ultra
@25C

ITX length RTX 360 GPU was installed but not plugged in to reduce airflow.

Items noted with the IS-55:
The cooler is not really suitable for use with this Aorus motherboard. The CPU socket is offset towards the right side of the board (a high CPU location on a vertical motherboard). Secondly, the CPU cooler itself is offset front to back - away from the center of the CPU, causing the cooler to not clear the rear IO heatsink when the open “C” side of the cooler is faced towards the GPU. The cooler can only be mounted facing away from the GPU, and with the offset CPU socket, the cooler extends approximately 5mm over the edge of the motherboard. This does provide full access to the upper NVMe drive with the cooler installed. The two photos of the unmounted cooler show the offset of the cooler to the center of the CPU.

Low profile memory such as Corsair LPX is necessary to fit beneath the cooler.

The included RGB 15mm thick fan is reasonably quiet, however, the included mounting screws are too short to fit any other 15mm thick 120mm fan. The longer included screws for a 25mm thick fan are only threaded up a short distance from the end, not allowing their use on a 15mm thick fan. Other slightly longer fan mounting screws are necessary to mount a Noctua A12x15 fan for example.

Included fan was near silent at 1190 RPM at idle.

Cooler is well made, and if it can be properly fitted, it should be a good choice where CPU cooler height restrictions ar present.

The maximum steady CPU temperature for the last 3 minutes of testing was 78C, the 85C noted was a momentary transitory spike.
